The Literary Magazine would like to thank all the students who participated in the Black History Month Poetry contest. With so many wonderful entries, we simply could not choose one winner so we decided to add a runner-up. The runner-up for the contest is Erika Smith for her powerful and evocative poem "Isn't it Funny." Erika will receive a free literary magazine and a $25 gift card. The overall winner for contest is Omari Foote for her tremendous, blazing poem "Taught to Fight." Omari will receive a $50 gift card and a free literary magazine.
