Black History Month Poetry Contest
The Dunwoody Literary Magazine proudly announces a Black History Month Poetry Contest.
The poetry contest is open to all students, and the only requirement is that you write a poem, and the poem must relate to the theme. Go wherever your mind and heart lead you, but if you are stuck here are some possible topics to explore:
  • Write a poem discussing what Black History mean to you.
  • Write a poem that honors and celebrates an African-American who is important to you.
  • Write a poem discussing your experience been being black in America.
  • Write a poem exploring hope for race relations in America.

  • Please email your poems to the Literary Magazine at (use “Black History Contest” as your subject line) or bring them to Ms. Williams in room 2404
